The friends you meet…

At the beginning of our stay here at the Sripuram Ashram, in Thirumalaikodi, we met Parvati (on the left) on an auto rickshaw bus. On the bus she generously gave me some flowers for my hair. Her daughter, Lakshmi, (on the right) has a hair clip stall in the village markets. Since our meeting and despite our language barrier we have become beautiful friends. We visit their stall each evening to buy hair clips for our family and friends.
India is a country where it is so easy to connect with the local people. This is because of their generosity, friendliness and love of chatting. I am going to miss Parvati and Lakshmi so much when we leave today.

  1. Something that really stood out for me when I visited India, is that people seem to talk to each other like they’ve known each other for ages, even if they’ve only just met. It’s great.

I'd love to hear from you...
