Shops That Rock ~ The Orange Bicycle

The Orange Bicycle

The Orange Bicycle Shop…

“Why are you two lovely ladies looking so happy?” asked a gentlemen in the breakfast room of our Bangalore hotel.

“We’re off shopping for the day!” exclaimed Padma and I gleefully.

“Shopping? Where do you shop in Bangalore? I have three daughters and a wife back home and I have been here for a month and haven’t been able to find them anything!”

“Ah…you just have to know where to look” said Padma.

With that she took out her notebook and we wrote a page long map with shopping tips for him. The gentleman was so happy and appreciative.

That is the key to a perfect shopping day ~ squirrelling out shops that are interesting, different and fun to be in.

One shop we recommended to him was The Orange Bicycle. We found this cutie on our last trip to Bangalore. We bought perfect and tasteful Indian inspired gifts here to take back to friends and family back home.

    • Thank you so much Sueann. It is why I started this blog in the first place. When I started to go to India there was little info on shopping in India but since then I have found amazing places to shop, stay and eat. I delight in sharing these tips with others…if it helps just one person it is worth it 🙂 Have a great day ~ Lakshmi x

    • You are too sweet…no more pics on this shop by me but have a look at their internet site and you will see inside the store 🙂

    • I’m so glad you like my blog Ola…thank you for your kind words 🙂 Hopefully some of my info will help you with your trip…how exciting for you ~ Lakshmi x

  1. It’s an excellent idea to build up a list of those out of the way, off the beaten track , hard to find places because they are often hidden little gems that delight tourists!
There’s nothing worse that finding out that these places exist just after you left! Far better to look them up on a site like this and enjoy them when you are visiting ;0

    • Thank you…I hope I am doing an OK job of spreading the shopping tips. I know I hate to have missed a cute shop 🙂 especially if you are not returning for a while! I really appreciate your lovely comments ~ Lakshmi

I'd love to hear from you...
