I was there shortly before the cyclone. Sometimes I sit and think about sitting on that beach and wandering the streets of that town… I really want to get back there someday.
Lakshmi is a darling…we went to visit her every day. Pondicherry is just the most wonderful place. I have been four times and never tire of the lovely avenues and cute coloured doors. I hope you get back there soon 🙂
I have nominated you for very inspiring blogger award, dear friend Lakshmi. Please click on the link below for more information. Please accept and oblige.
I LOVED Pondicherry, and that elephant has the same name as you! Her name is Lakshmi as well, and I use her as my avatar.
My experiences with her are here: http://bentouttashape.wordpress.com/2011/11/28/the-pitter-pat-of-rain-and-a-pat-on-the-head

PS I always wondered if your gravitar was Lakshmi at Pondicherry as I have a nearly identical photo of her 🙂
Yup. The head that she is blessing is me 🙂
That’s lovely…elephant blessings are a gift 🙂
That’s beautiful. Reminds me of Agra when I visited last winter:)
Thanks Vishal…I love the serenity of the laneway and the graceful movements of the elephant 🙂
What a lovely ritual. I love the way she backs into the corner so neatly – it’s like she’s doing a reverse park!
Me too…and I love how she lets out the little call too 🙂 have a gorgeous weekend 🙂

That was a brave man to remain seated when an elephant was coming his way. He must know that elephant really well! 🙂
